Jacqueline Lecourtier, Managing Director of the French National Research Agency (ANR), has accepted to chair the 2010 edition of the World Congress on Emulsions. Her credentials as President can particularly be explained, as ANR’s mission is to bring together researchers of the private and public sectors, which is the same ambition that motivates the companies sponsoring the Congress. United by their common interest in emulsions, they hope to give researchers, whether academic or industrial, an opportunity to meet every four years to exchange on the progress made with regard to scientific knowledge and technical innovations on this material.
Before her current position, Jacqueline Lecourtier worked at the French Institute of Petroleum, where she held several positions, particularly that of Scientific Director. A large share of the work she has carried out or initiated concerns the properties of emulsions applied to the world of petroleum. Her personal expertise on this specific topic further strengthens the pertinence of her presence at the Congress.
